We don’t like it unless it is for free! So, if you want to enjoy a wonderful view of Como on the opposite side of the more crowded Brunate, Monte Croce could be a really good idea.
Without a car, you can get there walking up from the Basilica of Sant’Abbondio.
It is possible to follow the brown signs, which will take you inside “Spina Verde” park and to the cross through the “Sentiero Sant’Eutichio”.
You can find easily the path downloading the path “Maps.me”, Google Maps is showing mostly how to arrive there by car.
We would suggest to go up by car at night, even if the road is really dirty and not easy.
Approximately, it takes 1 hour walking up from the city center and same to go back. There is “Baita Croce” where to take some food or refreshments.
- If you would like to have lunch or dinner, check opening hours of Baita Croce.
- There are no toilettes (except in the Baita)
- There are 300 meters of difference between the start and the end of the path.
- Take your time, but you can do it!
