Few steps away from Como City Center you can walk the landscaping “Passeggiata Villa Olmo” (Villa Olmo path) and get to Villa Olmo (formerly Villa Odescalchi)
On the back of the Villa, after walking through the park, you can pass the bridge called “Km della Conoscenza” which is the starting point of the trail.
There is possibility to walk through the gardens of Villa Grumello and Villa Sucota/Fondazione Antonio Ratti, stopping by at the cafè which was originally a glasshouse.
Magnificient views of Como with really nice viewpoints will wait for you.
There is no entrance fee, but check the opening before starting to walk. All the path is usually opened just on Sunday, from April to November.
During the other days, few sections are open.
There are free toilets at the Fondazione Ratti and in Villa Olmo Park.
You can do it one way, getting bus number 6 or 11 at Fondazione Antonio Ratti parking lot to go back to Como (or, viceversa, take the bus to Villa Sucota/Fondazione Antonio Ratti, walk on the small stairs at the center of the parking lot and start from there).
Take your time.. and enjoy the views!
