Round the lake: Menaggio, Gravedona, Colico, Varenna, Bellagio

Would you like to take the best from each spot in Como, but without rush of going and coming back at night? Take at least 2 days and travel around the lake.

Each small town has something to say and unique characteristics. Main spots are of course Varenna and Bellagio, but have you ever know that there is small castle in “Rezzonico”? Have you ever thought there could be so many windsurfers in Colico? Look for them!
Easiest way is to stop here and there with a scooter or a motorbike, to avoid annoying parking issues, but also by car or by public transport, you can make it.
Stop for an ice-cream in Argegno, have lunch in Menaggio and then go sunbathing close to Gravedona or Gera Lario, where you can also rest for the night.

On the new day, go on Lecco side of the lake. Enjoy the wind and the activities of Colico before getting to Varenna for a nice walk. Take the boat to Bellagio and after visiting, get back to Como by bus or by fast boat.
If you have more time, you can combine one of the activities described in the other sections of the website, such as the “Greenway of the Lake”. There are really nice hikings over Menaggio (Monte Grona) or on Mount Legnone or Grigna and Grignetta, but there are no public transports arriving at the beginning of the trails, so you should have your own car/scooter or you can try hitch-hiking.
